About Glass House Ministry
Glass House Ministry is a Christian-based nonprofit organization that works in partnership with Churches to provide financial training, counseling and care resources to the Church body.
Our vision is to promote the generational financial wellbeing of families. To make this vision a reality, we provide resources and practical tools through the local church that will help individuals and families:
- Become sound financial stewards of their resources, with practices that will impact generations.
- Become fully contributing members of the church body.
These statistics illustrate the need for financial counseling and care resources within the local Church:
- In February 2008, the average debt (including auto loans) was $25,211, up 11% since April of 2007. The average monthly payment was $1,233, also up 11% during the same period.
- Average credit card delinquencies in January of 2008 were at the third highest level on record.
- Forty percent of church members say they overspend monthly.
- Forty percent of church members pay more than $2,000 a year in interest, not including their mortgage.
- In 2007, the average church member gave $1,426.00 to his congregation.
